Centre County Birth Records, 1893-1905

The Centre County Genealogical Society is proud to announce the release of "Centre County Birth Records, 1893-1905." The publication includes over 11,000 birth records recorded by the tax assessors of Centre County between the dates of 1893 and 1905. It includes virtually all information from the docket books to include name of child, sex/race, father's name, mother's name, residence, father's occupation, date of birth, and birthplace. Also included are a complete index to the names of the infants along with citations to the original birth docket books. Information is also provided on the history of the births and deaths recorded in the courthouse, as well as information on ordering official copies from the courthouse. Certified copies of the birth records may be ordered from Centre County Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans' Court. It also includes information on birth information from 1906 to present. Beginning in 1906 the state of Pennsylvania took over the task of recording births. Edited by the Publications Committee of the Centre County Genealogical Society, with data transcription by Susan K. Ferrill, 2009.
